Rovescala is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 875 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 13.5 kilometers northwest of Pavia in the Oltrepò Pavese on the Bardonezza , belongs to the Comunità Montana Oltrepò Pavese and borders directly on the province of Piacenza ( Emilia-Romagna ).

In 943 the place was donated by Hugo and Lothar II to the Bishop of Pavia .
