Gambolò is a north-western Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9920 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 24 kilometers west-northwest of Pavia in the Parco Lombardo Valle del Ticino west of the Ticino . The municipality is located in the eastern Lomellina , part of the Po Valley . The Terdoppio flows through the municipality .

history

The village is mentioned in 999 as Gambolatum and from 1250 with the current name. Around 1000, the castell, which is still partially preserved, was built.
