Mede is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6404 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 34 kilometers west-southwest of Pavia and about 23 kilometers northeast of Alessandria .

history

Mede is first mentioned in 1157 as part of the fiefdom of Lomello. In 1928 the formerly independent municipality of Goido is incorporated into Mede as a district.

The Pavia – Torreberetti railway runs through the municipality. In Mede there is a train station on this route.
