Vidigulfo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6576 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 13 kilometers north-northeast of Pavia and about 20 kilometers south-southeast of Milan between Lambro and Olona . Vidigulfo borders the metropolitan city of Milan .

history

At the end of the 8th century a vicus Lodulfi (later Vigudulfium ) appeared, which soon came under the rule of the Counts of Pavia. The other districts ( Cavagnera , Mandrino , Pontelungo and Vairano ) were incorporated in the 19th century.

economy

In Vairano there has been a race track (the Autodromo di Vairano ) since 1995 , which is used in particular by the Italian magazine Quattroruote for test purposes.

Within the area next to the main town which are fractions Cavagnera, Pontelungo and Vairano, as well as the residential places Bichignana, Cascina Cavallera, Cascina Pasquala, Torre and Vallombrosa.
