Landriano is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6517 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 15.5 kilometers northeast of Pavia and about 18.5 kilometers south-southeast of Milan . Landriano borders directly on the metropolitan city of Milan .

history

The district of Pairana has existed since the 9th century (documented mention 856). Landriano is first mentioned as a place in the 11th century. In the second half of the 19th century, the two villages became the municipality of Landriano. In 1529 the battle between France and Spain, named after the place, took place near Landriano as part of the War of the League of Cognac .
