Confienza is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1580 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 49 kilometers northwest of Pavia in north-western Lomellina and borders directly on the province of Novara ( Piedmont ).

history

The first documentary mention dates back to 999 in a gift from Otto III. to the Bishop of Vercelli . Through Frederick II , the place came to Pavia.
