Frascarolo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1160 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 40 kilometers west-southwest of Pavia in the Lomellina and borders the province of Alessandria ( Piedmont ).

history

The town was mentioned in 1164; 1250 as Frascarolum . At the same time, the Abbey of Acqualunga (as Aqualungha ) is mentioned. In 1818 both communities were united.
