Barry Atsma (born December 29, 1972 in the London Borough of Bromley , England ) is a Dutch actor .
biography
Barry Atsma was born on December 29, 1972 in Bromley, South London, and grew up in England, Greece, Brazil and the Netherlands. He broke off his law studies in favor of acting at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht , which he finished in 1996. He had previously appeared in the two television series Bureau Kruislaan and Goede tijden, slechte tijden . He became known to a wide audience through his leading role in the television series Rozengeur & Wodka Lime . He made his screen debut in the drama De passievrucht , which appeared in 2003 and was directed by Maarten Treurniet , alongside Carice van Houten , Halina Reijn and Jan Decleir . In 2009 Atsma played, alongside Carice van Houten, the role of Stijn in the drama Komt een vrouw bij de dokter and in 2012 the leading role in the psychological thriller Quiz . Other film and television roles followed. His work includes more than 60 productions.
From 1994 to 2011 Atsma was in a relationship with the actress Izaira Kersten . They have two daughters together. He is currently in a relationship with actress Noortje Herlaar , with whom he has had a daughter since 2018.
