The province of Piacenza (Italian Provincia di Piacenza ) is an Italian province of the Emilia-Romagna region . The capital is Piacenza .
It has 287,236 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in 48 municipalities on an area of 2,589 km². The immigrants represent 4.2% of the total population.
The province is bordered by Lombardy to the north and west , Parma to the east, Liguria to the south and Piedmont to the southwest .
Until 1927 the province was divided into the districts of Piacenza and Fiorenzuola .
