The Province of Ferrara (Italian Provincia di Ferrara ) is an Italian province in the Emilia-Romagna region . The capital is Ferrara . It has 344,840 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in 21 municipalities on an area of 2630 km².
It borders in the north on the province of Rovigo (along the Po , which has its delta mouth here), in the west on the province of Modena and in the south on the metropolitan city of Bologna and the province of Ravenna . In the east lies the Adriatic Sea .
