Zerba ( Emilian : Sèrba ) is an Italian municipality in the province of Piacenza . The community now has 69 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

geography

Zerba is located at an altitude of about 906 meters above sea level in the westernmost part of Emilia-Romagna on the south side of Mount Lesima (1724 meters). It is the highest municipality in the province of Piacenza. Genoa as the next largest city and the coast of the Mediterranean are about 75 kilometers south-west of Zerba.

The population is Emilian. The demonym is Sèrbesi (ital. Zerbesi) and their community is called Sèrba. Zerba is in acute danger of extinction, as over 60% of the population are over 60 and only about 20% are under 20 years old. The community had 15 times the population about 150 years ago.
