Travo is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 2141 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 20 kilometers south-southwest of Piacenza on the Trebbia and belongs to the Comunità Montana Appennino Piacentino .

history

The area around Travo has been inhabited since the Stone Age. Archaeological excavations since 1995 confirm this. In 303 the place is first mentioned as a Roman settlement Trivia . Later the area of ​​today's community belonged to the abbey of St. Columbanus.
