Antoninus of Piacenza was an early Christian martyr who is venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church . Antoninus is the patron saint of Piacenza in northern Italy .

In the late 4th century he is mentioned in the De laude Sanctorum of Victricius of Rouen as the patron saint of Piacenza. The Martyrologium Hieronymianum mentions him on September 30th. According to the Inventio corporis Sancti Antonini martyris Placentini , a text from the 9th century, he is said to have been one of the martyrs of the Theban Legion . The Inventio also reports that in the late 4th century, Bishop Sabinus found the bones of St. Antoninus found. The relics were stored in one of their donors, St. Bishop Victor consecrated church outside the city walls transferred and buried in the local grave of Victor. The church was later temporarily consecrated to both saints, meanwhile St. Antoninus ( Sant'Antonino ).

An account of a pilgrimage to the Holy Land from the late 6th century was erroneously given to St. Attributed to Antoninus, but in fact it was written by an unknown pilgrim from Piacenza , who initially placed his journey under the protection of the saint.
