Gragnano Trebbiense is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 104,315 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 11 kilometers west-southwest of Piacenza in Val Trebbia . To the west, the Tidone , to the east, the Trebbia borders the municipality.
history
The Battle of the Trebbia took place in 218 BC : In the Second Punic War, the troops of the consul Tiberius Sempronius Longus did not succeed in holding back the Carthaginians under Hannibal, so that Hannibal continued to advance on Rome.
