Vigolzone is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4200 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 16 kilometers south-southwest of Piacenza in Val Nure . The eastern boundary of the municipality forms the Nure .
history
From the reports on the Battle of the Trebbia (218 BC) there is also a record of the place Viccunia . Archaeological excavations have confirmed the existence of this place in the municipality in the 18th century. The Vigolzone castle complex was built from 1242.
Economy and Transport
Wine is grown on the Colli Piacento. The former Strada Statale 654 di Val Nure leads from Piacenza to Rezzoaglio in Liguria through the cultivation area and through the municipality . The former railway line from Piacenza to Bettola ( La Littorina ), on which there was a train station in the Grazzano Visconti district , has been closed since 1967.
