Castell'Arquato is a northern Italian municipality with 4563 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna and is a member of the association I borghi più belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Places in Italy). The municipality is located about 26 kilometers southeast of Piacenza on the Arda .

The neighboring municipalities are Alseno , Carpaneto Piacentino , Fiorenzuola d'Arda , Lugagnano Val d'Arda and Vernasca .

Castell'Arquato

The place first appeared in the 8th century without naming it. The name is then mentioned in a document from August 1220. The municipality also gains fame through the Castel Visconti, which was used by the Visconti family from 1416 to 1470 . The Sforza followed .
