Only after Alex Tavoularis had passed the age of 40 did he establish himself as chief designer at Dean's side. A little later, Alex was also responsible for designing film structures. In the 2000s, Tavoularis had to be content with smaller tasks and returned to storyboard design, illustration and assistant production. It was not until 2015/16 that he was entrusted with the visual design of a large-scale production again, when he created the design for a 3-D version of a film about the fall of Lusitania in 1915 .
