The canton of Chaumont-1 is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Chaumont , in the department of Haute-Marne and in the region of Grand Est , its capital is Chaumont .
history
The canton was created on March 22, 2015 as part of the reorganization of the cantons. Until 2015, its municipalities belonged to the cantons of Chaumont-Nord (6 of the 8 municipalities) and northern quarters of the city of Chaumont.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the three pairs of candidates achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Karine Colombo / Gérard Groslambert (both DVD) won against Éric Thomas / Éloïse Venancio (both PS ) with a share of the vote of 65.16% (turnout: 46.97%).
