Preliminary round
The field of participants turned out to be a two-tier society, so that the division of the final rounds was determined ahead of time. The teams that qualified for the Poule Haute won all of their competitions against the teams that qualified for the Poule Basse. Preliminary decisions had already been made in both the title fight and the relegation battle. Leader of the table De Sprénger Echternach was three points ahead of second-placed Gambit Bonnevoie , at the other end of the table the second team from Cercle d'échecs Dudelange was three points behind the saving sixth place, and Esch Rochade Reine was even five points behind .
After the preliminary round, Schëffleng and Differdange's second team were almost saved, and they couldn't take this good starting position out of their hands. Esch gave the last place to Dudelange's second team and thus avoided relegation, as a place in the national division became free in the coming season.
