Alexander Berelovich (internationally often Aleksandar Berelovich , Ukrainian Олександр Леонідович Берелович Oleksandr Leonidowytsch Berelovytsch ; born July 2, 1967 in Kharkiv , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian chess player and living in Germany .

Life

Berelowitsch has held the title of Grand Master since 1997 .

In 2001 he won the Ukrainian individual championship in Ordzhonikidze . In 2003 he won the Möhnesee Cup and the Hohenlohe Open , in 2005 he won the Open at the Solingen Chess Weeks, in 2008 the 5th LGA Premium Cup in Nuremberg and in 2016 the 2nd Bayer Summer Open in Leverkusen.

In 2008 Berelowitsch moved to the German Chess Federation .

Berelowitsch played in the German Federal Chess League in the 2002/03 season for SK Turm Emsdetten , from 2007 to 2017 he was a member of SV Mülheim-Nord . Berelowitsch has been playing for the Düsseldorf SK 1914/25 since 2017, including in the 1st Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season. In the Dutch Meester class he played for ESGOO Enschede from 2004 to 2007 , for HMC Calder from 2007 to 2009 , for the Bussums Schaakgenootschap from 2011 to 2014 and since 2015 for En Passant Bunschoten-Spakenburg , with whom he became champion in 2016 . In Belgium, Berelowitsch has played for KSK Rochade Eupen-Kelmis since 2005 , with whom he also took part in the European Club Cup in 2006 and 2011 , and in Luxembourg he has played for De Sprénger Echternach since 2006 , with whom he was team champion in 2009 , 2016 and 2018 .
