Gennadij Ginsburg ( Russian Геннадий Гинсбург ; born August 11, 1971 in Kommunarsk ) is a German - Ukrainian chess master . In 1994 he moved from the Ukrainian Chess Federation to the German Chess Federation .

Life

Even in Ukraine was his coach of the Grand Master Hennadij Kuzmin . Ginsburg runs a chess academy, together with his wife, who teaches art and art history. Ginsburg won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 1st place at the Heinerfestpokal Open in Darmstadt (1994), 1st – 2nd place. Place at the Open in Mannheim (1995), 1st place at the Hessian individual championship in Hofheim am Taunus (1995), 1st – 3rd place. Place at the Balagne Open in Calvi (2004) and 1st – 4th. Place at the Open in Giessen (2005).

Ginsburg has held the title of International Master since 1994 . He received the grandmaster title in September 2006. He fought for the norms for the title of grandmaster at the 13th Open in Cappelle-la-Grande in February 1997, at the 8th Open in Bad Zwesten in January 2004 and in the 2005/06 season 2nd Bundesliga West . He plays club chess in Germany (except in the 2009/10 season, when he played in the 1st Bundesliga at SK Heidelberg-Handschuhsheim ) for SV 1920 Hofheim (mainly in the 2nd Bundesliga, but from 2003 to 2005 and from 2017 until 2019 also two years in the 1st league), in Belgium for Schachfreunde Wirtzfeld , with whom he became Belgian team champion in 2009 , and in Luxembourg for De Sprénger Echternach , with whom he won the Luxembourg team championship in 2015 , 2016 , 2018 and 2019 .
