Cappelle-la-Grande ( Dutch Chapel ) is a French municipality with 7899 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dunkerque and the canton of Coudekerque-Branche (until 2015: Dunkerque-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Cappellois (es) .

geography

The municipality is located on the Canal de Bergues and the Canal de Bourbourg . Cappelle-la-Grande is surrounded in the north and north-west by Dunkirk , Coudekerque-Branche in the north-east, Téteghem-Coudekerque-Village in the east, Bierne in the south-east and south and Armbouts-Cappel in the south-west and south.

The national route 225 runs through the municipality .
