Spycker ( NDL. : Spijker ) is a French municipality with 1807 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dunkerque and is part of the canton of Coudekerque-Branche (until 2015: Canton of Bourbourg ). The inhabitants are called Spyckerois (es) .
geography
Spycker is located on the Canal de Bourbourg , which is part of the major shipping route Dunkirk-Scheldt and borders the municipality to the north. Spycker is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Grande-Synthe in the north, Armbouts-Cappel in the east, Pitgam in the south, Brouckerque in the south and west and the exclave Mardyck of Dunkirk in the north-west.
