Mairie Steenwerck

Steenwerck ( Dutch steenwerck ) is a French commune in the Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It is located in the arrondissement of Dunkerque , about 25 kilometers north of Lille and has 3673 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). The urban area covers 27.47 km².

A town partnership with Hemer has existed since 1967 . There are four WWI cemeteries : Croix-du-Bac British Cemetery , Le Grand Beaumart British Cemetery , Trois Arbres Cemetery, and a German war cemetery.
