Morbecque ( West Flemish Moerbeke ) is a French municipality with 2538 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Dunkerque and the canton Hazebrouck (until 2015 canton Hazebrouck-Sud ).
Neighboring municipalities of Morbecque are Hazebrouck in the north, Borre in the northeast, Vieux-Berquin in the east, Merville in the southeast, Haverskerque in the south, Steenbecque in the southwest, Blaringhem in the west and Wallon-Cappel and Sercus in the northwest.
In the years between 1790 and 1794 the hamlet of La-Motte-au-Bois was incorporated.
