Hondeghem ( Flemish : Hondegem ) is a French town in Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France in the historic West Flemish -speaking region French Flanders . Hondeghem has 951 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), who are called Hondeghemois , and belongs to the canton of Bailleul (until 2015: canton of Hazebrouck-Nord ) in the arrondissement of Dunkerque .
location
Hondeghem is about 51 kilometers southeast of Calais and about 32 kilometers south-southeast of Dunkirk . Hondeghem is surrounded by the neighboring communities Oxelaëre in the north and north-west, Sainte-Marie-Cappel in the north, Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel in the north-east, Caëstre in the east, Hazebrouck in the south, Wallon-Cappel in the south-west, Staple in the west and Bavinchove in the north-west.
