Herzeele ( Flemish : Herzele ) is a French municipality with 1,640 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dunkerque and the Canton of Wormhout . The inhabitants are called Herzeelois .

geography

Herzeele is located about 19 kilometers south-southeast of Dunkirk near the Belgian border. Herzeele is surrounded by the neighboring communities Bambecque in the north, Houtkerque in the east, Winnezeele in the south and southeast, Oudezeele in the south and Wormhout in the west.

The A25 autoroute crosses the municipality.
