Vieux-Berquin ( Dutch : Oud-Berkijn ) is a French municipality with 2507 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dunkerque , the Canton of Bailleul (until 2015: Canton Bailleul-Sud-Ouest ) and the Flandre Intérieure municipal association . The inhabitants are called Vieux-Berquinois .
geography
Vieux-Berquin is located near the Belgian border in the former French Flanders , in the extreme north of France. Vieux-Berquin is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Pradelles and Strazeele in the north, Merris and Bailleul in the northeast, Le Doulieu in the east, Neuf-Berquin in the southeast, Merville in the south and southwest, La Motte-au-Bois in the west and Hazebrouck and Borre in the Northwest.
