Camel drift , in particular a more agricultural area in the past, is a suburb of the South African capital Pretoria . It is about 20 km northeast of the city center. Kameeldrift located in the province of Gauteng , belonging to the Metropolitan Municipality City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality .

Of the 6727 inhabitants (as of 2011), about 69 percent belong to the black population group, about 30 percent are white; Colored, Indian, and other races make up 1 percent of the population.
