Kaspar Schnetzler

Kaspar Emil Schnetzler (* 1942 in Zurich ) is a Swiss writer .

He completed his German studies and art history at the University of Zurich and the Free University of Berlin with a Dr. phil. from. After appearing as an oboist at the Zurich June Festival and as a clown at the Swiss National Circus Knie , he worked from 1968 to 2003 as a high school teacher , writer and journalist .

As a teacher he taught German and art history. As a writer, he has published short stories, letters and novels. As a journalist - mainly for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung - he traveled to Switzerland and Eastern Europe (GDR, Poland, Western Ukraine / Galicia) before the opening and wrote columns.

Employers were the Canton of Zurich , the New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire / USA, the CG Jung Institute Zurich, as well as media such as Neue Zürcher Zeitung, the magazine of the Zürcher Tagesanzeiger, the magazine DU and the Swiss radio.

He gave guest lectures at the University of Kent in Canterbury , in the German-Maltese-Circle of Valletta in the German House of New York University and at the University of Bergen .

He has been working as a writer since 2003. He lives in Zurich. He writes novels, short stories, poetry, essays, plays and journalism. He was awarded a prize from the Swiss Schiller Foundation , the Zurich Journalist Prize , an honorary gift from the Canton of Zurich.
