Stefan Bromberger (born March 19, 1982 in Neuss ) is a German chess player who holds the FIDE title of Grand Master .
Life
Stefan Bromberger is a graduate economist ( master's degree ). He studied at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .
successes
In 1994, who lives in Wolfratshausen , won the German U13 individual championship in Osnabrück . In 2000, he took second place with the German U18 national team at the European Championships in Balatonlelle, Hungary . In June 2001 he won the Tavasz tournament in Kecskemét , in August 2001 he reached a shared first place at the Caissa tournament in Miercurea Ciuc . In 2005 he became the Bavarian individual champion in Würzburg . At the Bad Wörishofen Chess Festival in 2007 he came second behind Bu Xiangzhi and ahead of Romuald Mainka .
In the German federal chess league he played since 1999 for TV Tegernsee , with which he also took part in the European Club Cup 2005 in Saint-Vincent (Aosta Valley) . From the 2009/10 season he played for Bayern Munich after the Tegernsee withdrew . For the 2012/13 season he moved within the 2nd Bundesliga East to Munich's newly promoted MSA Zugzwang 82 , where his former coach Gerald Hertneck also plays. In Austria he played for Rochade Innsbruck / Rum in the State League B West, from 2002 for the SK Sparkasse Absam in the State League A and the 2nd Bundesliga West, since 2005 in the 2nd Bundesliga West again for Rochade Innsbruck / Rum and from 2010 until 2018 in the 1st Bundesliga for SIR Salzburg . He plays for Barberà in the Catalan team championship . Bromberger has played in the Swiss Bundesliga for SC Lyss-Seeland since the 2013/14 season .
Bromberger has held the title of International Master since January 2002 and the title of Grand Master since August 2014. He achieved a grandmaster norm at the 7th Open Bavarian Championship in Bad Wiessee in 2003 when he finished second behind Suat Atalık with Fabian Döttling , a second in the German 2nd Bundesliga East in the 2012/13 season and a third in of the 2013/14 season of the Austrian Bundesliga. With his highest rating to date of 2556, he was in 23rd place in the German Elo ranking.
