Mladen Muše (born January 20, 1963 in Bjelovar ) is a German - Croatian chess master . He played for the German Chess Federation until 2006 and then moved to the Croatian Chess Federation.

Muše won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 3rd place in Dortmund at the U-20 individual youth championship of the Federal Republic of Germany (1982), 1st place at the tournament in Banja Vrućica (1987), 1st place at the autumn tournament in Budapest (1990) , 2nd place at the tournament in Vinkovci (1993) and 1st place at the 5th Cvitanovic Memorial (2000). He is a three-time Berlin chess champion : He won the West Berlin individual championship in 1985, 1987 and 1989. He won the German championship in blitz chess in 1999.

Muše has held the title of Grand Master since 2001 . He became international champion in 1986. He played club chess in the 1980s for SVg Lasker-Steglitz (including in the 1982/83 season and from 1984 to 1990 in the 1st Bundesliga ), in the 1990s for SV Empor Berlin ( from 1991 to 1998 in the 1st Bundesliga), with whom he also took part twice in the European Club Cup and in the 2000s for SK König Tegel (including in the seasons 2000/01, 2006/07, 2009/10, 2011 / 12 and 2013/14 in the 1st Bundesliga) in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga .

In the Austrian Bundesliga (state league until 2003), Muše played in the 1997/98 season for SK Sparkasse Fürstenfeld , from 2001 to 2004 for ESV Austria Graz , with whom he became Austrian team champion in 2003 .

His brother Dražen (* 1971) is also a chess player and holds the title of International Master .
