Ante Brkić (born March 31, 1988 in Stari Mikanovci , SR Croatia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian chess player .

Life

In August 2003 he became International Master . The norms for this he achieved between August 2001 and March 2003 at four tournaments (in Vukovar , in the Croatian Bobota, Bled and Subotica ). He has been a grandmaster since January 2007 . He reached the standards for this in January 2005 at the A Open in Bošnjaci , in July 2005 at the Individual European Championship in Warsaw and in June 2006 at the Bosnian Team Championship. In January 2015 he is in third place in the Croatian Elo ranking.

He won the Croatian individual championship 2010 in Marija Bistrica in January 2011 ahead of Ivan Šarić .

Elo development

National team

He took part in the Mitropa Cup five times with the Croatian national team (2002 to 2006), with the team winning this competition once (2004 at the Zemplínska šírava ), once team runner-up (2005 in Steinbrunn , with an individual gold medal for his result of 6.5 out of 9 on the third board) and once third (2006 in Brno , with an individual gold medal for his result of 7 out of 9 on the second board, Elo performance 2675). He played three times for Croatia at Chess Olympiads , in 2004 , 2006 and 2012 , with an overall result of 9 out of 15 and four times in European team championships , in 2007, 2011 , 2013 and 2015 with an overall result of 11 out of 24.

He played club chess in Croatia as a youth at ŠK Šokadija Stari Mikanovci , later for Djuro Pilar from Slavonski Brod , ŠK Vinkovci , Djuro Djacović-Holding Slavonski Brod and HAŠK Mladost Zagreb . In the Bosnian 1st league (Premijer Liga) he plays for ŠK Široki Brijeg , with whom he won the team championship in Pale in 2012 and in Neum in 2014 and took part in the European Club Cup in 2006, 2008 and 2012 . In the Slovenian 1st league he plays for the ŽŠK Maribor , in the Austrian Federal Chess League in the 2008/09 season and again since the 2016/17 season for the SK ASVÖ St.Veit / Glan . In the Hungarian team championship, Brkić has played for Pénzügyőr Sport Egyesület since 2017 .
