Mišo Cebalo (born February 6, 1945 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian chess grandmaster . In 2009 he won the 19th World Chess Championship for seniors in Condino.

Life

He learned to play chess at the age of 5 from his father, who was a good chess player. At the age of 13 he played in the local chess clubs and at the age of 20 he took part in the Yugoslav championship in Titograd . He then studied languages ​​at the University of Zagreb and played little during this time. At the student team world championship in Harrachov in 1967 , he came on board 4 of the Yugoslav team on 4.5 points from 9 games. From 1977 he played again regularly and received the title of International Master in 1978 . Two years later he achieved his first grandmaster norm, but did not receive the title until 1985 when he came in second at the Yugoslav championship after a playoff against tournament winner Slavoljub Marjanović and won the zone tournament in Kavala . At the interzonal tournament in Taxco he came on a shared 6-7. Space. He also played in many open tournaments, especially in Italy. In 2011 he received the title of FIDE Senior Trainer.

Team chess
