Carl Ludolph von Danckelmann
Carl Ludolph Freiherr von Danckelmann (born October 12, 1699 in Halle (Saale) ; † December 13, 1764 in Berlin ) was in the Hesse-Kassel and Prussian state services. Most recently he was Prussian Minister of State.
Life
He came from the noble family von Danckelmann raised to the baron status and was heir, feudal lord and court lord of Lodersleben and Obhausen (Wiedenbachisches Mannlehngut). His father was Nikolaus Bartholomäus von Danckelmann (1650-1739), his mother Sophie Magdalena (1660-1702), born von Brömse (also: von Brömbsen) .
Danckelmann was initially chamberlain to King George I of Great Britain . Then he was from 1725 senior court judge in Marburg . In 1731 he was the Privy Councilor of Justice in Berlin and envoy to the Reichstag in Regensburg . In 1740 he became Minister of State of the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel and was President of all colleges in the County of Hanau . From 1740 he commissioned the builder David Schatz to build the Lodersleben Palace .
With the rank of a real secret minister of state, he changed again to Prussian service in 1748. He was president of the secret judicial council and feudal director in Berlin. In later years until his death he was head of the spiritual department and first president of the Lutheran Upper Consistory of Prussia . In addition, all universities and schools and the royal library in Berlin were subordinate to him.
family
He was married twice, first to Antoinette von Borcke (1704–1729), a daughter of the future Prussian Field Marshal Adrian Bernhard von Borcke , then to Lucie Sophie von Freyberg (1704–1764). After his death he left five sons, including Adolph Graf von Danckelmann , Wilhelm Freiherr von Danckelmann and Ludwig Philipp Gottlob Freiherr von Danckelmann .
