Krunoslav Hulak (born May 25, 1951 in Osijek , † October 23, 2015 in Zagreb ) was a Croatian , formerly Yugoslav chess player.

Life

Krunoslav Hulak was awarded the title of International Master by FIDE in 1974 , and in 1976 he was awarded the title of Grand Master . In the summer of 1984 in Berlin , he finished second behind Eric Lobron .

He took part in six Chess Olympiads between 1982 and 1996 and played three each for the Yugoslav ( 1982 , 1986 and 1990 ) and for the Croatian team ( 1992 , 1994 , 1996 ), and he also played at the European Team Championships in 1977, 1980, 1983 and 1989 for the Yugoslav team, at the European team championships in 1992 and 1997 for the Croatian team. With the team he reached second place in 1983 and 1989, in the individual ranking he achieved the best individual result on the second board in 1989 (together with Aleksander Wojtkiewicz ) and the best rating performance of all participants.

In the 1989/90 season he played in the German Federal Chess League for SK Zehlendorf on the 2nd board behind Michail Tal , in the Austrian Federal Chess League he played for Holz Dohr from 2007 to 2010 . He took part in the European Club Cup in 1993 and 1994 with the HAŠK Mladost-Novogradnja Zagreb , in 1996 with the ŠK Borovo Vukovar '91 , with which he came second, and in 2000 with the ŠK Bihać .
