Ante Šarić (born April 6, 1984 in Split ) is a Croatian chess player .

Life

In July 2003 he was Croatian U19 champion in Rabac . For the Croatian national team he played in nine Mitropa Cups from 2004 to 2013 . In 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2013 Croatia won the tournament, in 2005 the team finished second and in 2006 and 2012 third. Šarić received individual gold medals in 2004 for his score of 6 out of 8 on the fourth board, in 2007 for his score of 5 out of 8 on the first board, and in 2013 for his score of 7 out of 9 on the third board. In the Croatian 1st league he plays for the ŠK Liburnija Rijeka , the Croatian team champion 2012, in the Bosnian Premijer Liga in 2005 for the ŠK Napredak Zenica and in 2008, 2009 and 2011 for the HŠK Napredak Sarajevo . In the Austrian Bundesliga , Šarić will play for SV Pillenkönig St. Veit in the 2019/20 season .

In August 2003 he became international champion , he fulfilled the standards at three tournaments in Croatia, namely in August 2001 in Kostrena , in May 2001 in Split and in November 2002 in Opatija . Since January 2007 he has held the title of chess grandmaster . He achieved all the norms for this in 2006, at the Cannes Open in February, at a GM tournament in Bibinje in June and at a GM tournament in Rijeka in November. After a seminar in Rijeka in November 2010 with the trainers Adrian Mihalčišin and Georg Mohr , Ante Šarić also holds the title of FIDE trainer .
