Dražen Marović (* 14. January 1938 in Split ) is a Croatian , chess players , -journalist and author.

Life

Marović received the national championship title in 1961, in 1965 the FIDE awarded him the title of International Master , in 1975 the title of Grand Master. With the Yugoslav team, he took part in the European Team Championships in Oberhausen in 1961 and in Hamburg in 1965 , and each achieved second place. He is listed as inactive by FIDE because he has not played an Elo rated game since 1990 . His best historical rating prior to the introduction of the rating was 2604 in June 1971.

Marović has a university degree in literature.
