Henrik Teske (born February 28, 1968 ) is a German chess master .

Henrik Teske learned to play chess at an early age at home. His training partner was his brother, who was one and a half years older, at the age of 6, and he joined a chess club for the first time.

In 1985 Henrik Teske won the GDR championship in blitz chess . Teske won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 2nd place at the tournament in Guildford (1991), 3rd place at the tournament in Karlsruhe (1991), 3rd place at the tournament in Gifhorn (1992), 2nd place at the Berlin summer 1993 behind Karen Movsesjan , 1st place at the Open in Wattens (1998), 1st place at the tournament in Frohnleiten (1998), 2nd place at the Capablanca Memorial Premier tournament in Havana (1998), 1st place at the Open in Bad Wörishofen (2006 ) and 1st place at the North-West Cup in Bad Zwischenahn . He reached his best rating in July 2007 with 2578 after a very strong Bundesliga season.

Teske has held the title of International Master since 1988 , and received the Grand Master title in 1996.

Henrik Teske is a mechanical engineer. He has translated various chess books from English into German.

He played club chess in the German 1st Bundesliga in the 1991/92 season for SV Erfurt West , from 1992 to 1994 for SG Porz in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, and from 1994 to 1997 in the 1st division for Dresden SC , with whom he also participated twice in the European Club Cup . In the 1997/98 season he played at Empor Erfurt in the Oberliga Ost, after which he moved to TV Tegernsee , with whom he rose to the 1st Bundesliga in 1999. With Tegernsee he played in the first division until 2009 and also took part in the European Club Cup 2005. In 2009 he moved to SC Remagen , with whom he played in the 1st Bundesliga until 2012 and in the Oberliga Südwest in the 2012/13 season. From 2013 to 2015 he played for SV Glück in Rüdersdorf , and from the 2016/17 season he is again registered for SV Empor Erfurt .

In the Austrian 1st Bundesliga (State League A until 2003) he played for VÖEST Linz from 1994 to 1996 , from 1998 to 2002 for SK Merkur Graz , with whom he became champions in 1999 , 2000 , 2001 and 2002 and three times at the European Club Cup participated, in the 2006/07 season for the Absam / Innsbruck syndicate, in the 2010/11 season for Stryia Graz and in the 2011/12 season for the Kufstein / Wörgl syndicate .
