Léon Mons (born September 10, 1995 in Lübeck ) is a German chess grandmaster .
Léon Mons learned to play chess from his father, who was also a club player. As a teenager he trained regularly with the grandmaster Michael Prusikin . Since March 2019, he has been a research assistant at the University of Salzburg as a doctoral student in mathematics .
In the 2012/13 season of the German Chess League , his win against Arkadij Naiditsch was voted the best game of the season on schachbundesliga.de.
