Vitali Golod ( Ukrainian Віталій Голод Witalij Holod , Russian Виталий Голод Witali Golod , born June 23, 1971 in Lviv ) is a Ukrainian chess player who has been playing for the Israeli Chess Federation since 1996 .

Life

In February 1995 he and his family moved from Lviv, Ukraine to Beer Sheva , Israel. He was captain of the Israeli women's national team at the 2009 European Team Championships in Novi Sad , the 2010 Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk and the 2012 Chess Olympiad in Istanbul .

Single successes

In 1991 he won the last individual championship of the Ukrainian SSR in Simferopol before independence. In 1993 he won in Ufa , the open championship of chess club Kadyr Ufa in a tournament of Category 7, the Danube Open in Bratislava and the Skoda Open in Mladá Boleslav . In 1994 he shared first place in a Category 7 tournament in Satu Mare . In 1995, the year he moved to Israel, he won the Heraklion Open in Heraklion . In the German Federal Chess League, he plays for SV Mülheim-Nord . In Israel he played for the Beersheba Chess Club , with which he won the Israeli team championship six times: 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. He won the Israeli club cup with Beersheba five times: 1997, 1999, 2000, 2005 and 2008 He was also successful at the European Club Cups , the European Cup for club teams: At the Club Cup 1998 in Belgrade , which was held at the turn of the year 1998/99, he took third place with the team, and in 2004 in Izmir he achieved an Elo -Performance of 2716 the third best result on the sixth board. With Bredene he won the 2007/08 team championship as a climber. In the Slovak Extra League he played in the 1993/94 season for the ŠK Slovan Rimavská Sobota .

He became international champion in 1993, he has had the grandmaster title since 1996. The norms for this he achieved at the 5th Forlì Open in 1992, at the Romanian team championship in 1994 in Băile Herculane and the third grandmaster norm when he won the Heraklion Open in 1995. Since 2012 he has also held the title of FIDE Senior Trainer.
