Leonid Gofshtein ( Russian Леонид Давидович Гофштейн ; born April 21, 1953 in Kiev ; † December 25, 2015 ) was a Soviet - Israeli chess player .

He played for Israel at the 1992 Chess Olympiad in Manila . He also took part in the European team championship (1992).

In 1990 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). He was awarded the title of Grand Master (GM) in 1993.
