Individual evidence

  1. a b According to the Elo history at olimpbase.org, Davies is said to have switched between the English and Welsh associations nine times between 1980 and 1990. There is no doubt that he switched from the English to the Welsh federation at some point during this period, but the assignment given is believed to be incorrect. For example, he was listed as eligible to play for the Welsh Federation in the first half of 1982, but during this period he competed for the English team as part of the qualification for the 1983 European Team Championship.
