Tamir Nabaty ( Hebrew תמיר נבאתי; * May 4, 1991 in Nes Ziona ) is an Israeli chess player .

successes

Nabaty received the title of International Master in 2010 . At this point he had already fulfilled six standards, namely in the Israeli team championship in 2008, at the 24th Open in Cappelle-la-Grande in February 2008, at the Czech Open in Pardubice in July 2008, at the Israeli individual championship in Haifa in December 2008, at the Israeli team championship in 2009 and at a grandmaster tournament in Netanya in July 2009. In 2011 he was awarded the title of chess grandmaster , he had the required standards in October 2008 at the European Club Cup in Chalkidiki , at the Israeli team championship in 2010, in June 2010 at the international one Chess Festival in Albena and in October 2010 at the European Club Cup in Plovdiv . He plays club chess in Israel for the Be'er Scheva Chess Club , with which he has participated in the European Club Cup four times since 2008, in the Czech Republic for the team from Výstaviště Lysá nad Labem , with whom he became Czech team champion in 2019 , and in Germany for the SV Werder Bremen .

He became internationally known in 2006 when he finished in a respectable 6th place at the U-16 World Championships . In 2010 he won the Albena Open and ended up ahead of Krum Georgiew and Mircea Pârligras , among others .

In 2013 he became Israeli national champion in Acre . In a tournament based on the Swiss system , he came first with 6.5 points from 9 games. With the Israeli national team, Tabaty took part in the 2011 World Team Championship and the 2013 European Team Championship.

In mid-2018 he reached number 2 in the Israeli Elo ranking, just behind the long-time Israeli top player Boris Gelfand .
