Tal Baron ( Hebrew טל בראון; * August 7, 1992 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli chess player .

Life

Baron was born in Tel Aviv and grew up in Herzlia , where he also attended high school. He has been taking part in international chess competitions in various age categories since 2006. Baron was named International Master in 2010 , he fulfilled the required standards in December 2008 at the Israeli Individual Championship in Haifa and at the 2010 European Championship in Rijeka . The appointment as grandmaster took place in 2011, the required standards were met by Baron in August 2010 at the Olomouc Chess Summer , in March 2011 at the Elitzur Winter 2011 GM in Petach Tikwa and in June 2011 at the Mark Center Intl GM in Tel Aviv .

With the Israeli national team, Baron took part in the 2013 European Team Championship. He plays club chess in Israel for the team of Hapoel Rischon LeZion , with whom he also participated twice in the European Club Cup and in the French team championship for the CE de Rueil Malmaison .
