Dov Zifroni

Dov Zifroni ( Hebrew דב צפרוני; * February 17, 1976 ) is an Israeli chess player .

He plays club chess in Israel for the Herzlia Chess Club , with which he also took part in European Club Cups , namely in 1997 in Kazan on the third board , in 2001 in Panormos on the first and in 2007 in Kemer on the second board. In 1997 he had an Elo rating of 2651. He also played for the university team of Tel Aviv University , with whom he won the 9th Israeli university team championship on the first board in Tel Aviv in 2005.

In 1993 he became an international master . In 1999 he won the 15th Moshe Czerniak Memorial in Tel Aviv . The victory gave him his last grandmaster norm , so that in 1999 he received the grandmaster title. He achieved his second grandmaster norm when he won the Czerniak Memorial in 1998.

  • Herzliya 2000: 2nd / 3rd space
  • Sluzky Leonid Memorial, Herzlia 2009: 1st – 3rd space

His Elo rating is 2459 (as of August 2016). His highest rating to date was 2552 from July to December 2003, when he was tenth on the Israeli rating list.
