Maxim Rodshtein ( Russian Максим Эдуардович Родштейн ; Hebrew מקסים רודשטיין; Born January 19, 1989 in Leningrad ) is an Israeli chess player.

Life

Rodshtein grew up in Saint Petersburg, where he became the Saint Petersburg U10 champion. In 1998 the family moved to Israel. In 2005 he received the title of International Master , he fulfilled the required standards in the Israeli team championship in 2003, in October 2004 at the Winterthur Chess Week, in November 2004 at the U16 World Championship and in February 2005 at the Aeroflot Open in Moscow . In 2007 he became a grandmaster , he fulfilled the required standards in July 2006 at the 24th Andorra International Open, in December 2006 at the Israeli individual championship in Tel Aviv-Jaffa , which he won, and in March 2007 at the 23rd Open in Cappelle-la Grande .

In 2007 he achieved a shared tournament victory at the 25th Andorra International Open, in which 101 players took part. In 2002 he was runner-up at the U14 European Championship . Rodshtein won the 2004 U-16 World Cup in Heraklion . He won the 12th Open Internacional de Sants in Barcelona (2010). Maxim Rodshtein is married to the Czech Tereza Rodshtein (née Olšarová), who holds the title of Grand Master of Women .

National team

Rodshtein took part in the 2008 , 2010 , 2012 , 2014 , 2016 and 2018 Chess Olympiads with the Israeli national team. With the team he reached second place in 2008 and third place in 2010, and in 2008 he achieved the second best result of the reserve players in the individual ranking. In addition, Rodshtein took part in the World Team Championships in 2010 and 2015 and the European Team Championships in 2007, 2011 , 2017 and of 2019.

In Israel Rodshtein plays for the Be'er Scheva Chess Club , with which he also took part in the European Club Cup six times . In the German Federal Chess League, Rodshtein played for the Eppingen chess club from 2013 to 2015, for SK Schwäbisch Hall from 2015 to 2018 and for SV Lingen in the 2019/20 season . At the Russian team championship he played in 2008 for SchSM-64 Moscow , in 2015 and 2016 for the team of Medny Vsadnik Saint Petersburg , with whom he won the title in 2016 and also participated in the European Club Cup in 2015, in the Czech extra league from 2015 to 2017 for the ŠK Rapid Pardubice and in the 2017/18 season for the ŠK Zikuda Turnov . In Spain he has been playing for Sestao XT since 2014 , with which he won the title in 2018 , and in France since 2016 for the team from Bischwiller , with whom he was champions in 2018 and 2019 . Rodshtein won the Hungarian team championship in 2018 and 2019 with Aquaprofit NTSK .
