Taftanaz ( Arabic تفتناز, DMG Taftanāz ) is a small town and the capital of a district in northwest Syria in the Idlib governorate .

Taftanaz is 17 km northeast of Idlib on the road to Aleppo . The population is approximately 15,000. Most of the fields grown in the surrounding area are cotton.
