Sergey Erenburg ( Russian Сергей Владимирович Эренбург ; born January 27, 1983 in Biysk ) is an Israeli chess player .
He won the Israeli individual championship in 2004. He also played in the 2005 World Team Championship in Beersheba .
At the 2005 World Chess Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk , he beat Swiad Isoria in the first round and failed in the second round to Konstantin Sakayev .
In Germany he played for Sportfreunde Katernberg ( 2005/06 and 2006/07 ), in the Austrian Bundesliga in the 2006/07 season for SK Baden and in the United States Chess League (USCL) from 2007 to 2010 for the Baltimore Kingfishers as well as in 2011 and 2012 for the Philadelphia Inventors . In the USCL in 2008 he took third place in the category "Most Valuable Player" (MVP), second place in the category "Game of the Year" and belonged to the second All Star Team. In 2010 he was the second best MVP, in 2012 he was a member of the first All Star Team.
In 2002 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was awarded to him in 2003.
