Alexander Fishbein

Alexander Fishbein (born May 8, 1968 ) is an American chess master .

Fishbein, who came from the Soviet Union , learned chess at the age of four. He was trained in the chess section of the Leningrad Pioneer Palace before moving to the United States with his family at the age of 11. Especially in the early 1990s, he took part in many tournaments and was able to win in Chicago and Stavanger . In 1988 he received the title of International Master , in 1992 he became Grand Master . In 2006 he finished eighth in the US Championship , which is his best result after four appearances. His Elo number is 2466 (June 2017), his highest Elo number he reached in 1995 with 2550.

In the United States Chess League he played for the New Jersey Knockouts in 2011 and 2013 .
